Did I mention before the tour that they don't like to rehearse?  That's what 
all those solo appearances/tours were about. ;) I've read a couple of 
different rehearsal descriptions, and I'm a little vague as to details now, 
but here's about how they went:

One report by one of the band, who said they'd always screw around with 
jokes and horseplay until a day or so before the show, and then they'd 
panic, throw something together and hit the road.

The other was an article by someone who was invited along to interview one 
of the band (Pete?).  He went to the (rented) studio with the manager and at 
the appointed time, no one was there.  They waited around for an hour or so 
and three out of four showed up ($$ mounting for the studio time), and 
finally when the last one did, they decided not to rehearse.
