I have no opinion. I didn't post that.

It was interesting that Pete's songs were withdrawn from the "Iron Giant"
project. I thought maybe the songs were too scary and adult for the final
version of the movie. Would songs on this album be considered appropriate
for UK children?

Regardless of the fact that it was based on a children's story, I thought
Pete's album was aimed at adults. Somehow it just doesn't have that sunny,
cheery sound that I associate with music for children. ;)

I think we already heard the new modern version of The Who this summer. A
bunch of older fans complained about the sound, but the kids seemed to like
it, so I'd figure TED were right on the money. They do know their business.
Whether that makes them more accessible sort of depends on what masses
you're talking about, though.

Who do you mean by "masses," Jeff? Families? Children?

The Elton John/Disney combination is definitely aimed at families with young
children, of course, and somehow I don't think TED have ever considered how
to sell to these groups. I looked like they were a little surprised to see
younger children turn up at the shows just recently--likely an indication of
changing standards. Whofans are now more interested in exposing their kids
to good music than worrying about Pete's language.

If you're talking about families, I think it would be hard to turn one of
Pete's ideas into a children's show, but Pete's not the only member of The
Who. I could see them doing work for children if they all cooperated on a
project.
