lousy year for recording industry

Here's an interesting article about the current state of the recording 
industry:

The gist is that sales are dismal, investments in talent and contracts were 
heavy as the balloon of success was inflating.  This equals huge losses.

This is not unlike the bubble burst that we are experiencing in the rest of 
our info-oriented economy IMO.
