You could interpret it that way.  I think its a little deeper.  Selfishness
vs selflessness is my current take.  Bargain is about what you get for
yourself when you give of yourself.  It could also be about what you get
when you allow others to be indulgent and selfish.

OK - so that does sound like sex :-)
