In all honesty, and i hate to settle but i can live with the cuts, what i
cant stand is the rippled almost flanged sound throughout 3 quarters of the
film.  Which may have been a result of a poor mastering job done by BMG.
 dirty machines bad tape stock or bad 35 mm prints.)
I'm at the point of redubbing my vhs with the audio from the original vhs
release.
