Kicking dogs; Extra ticket for Atlanta; Crowes w/o Page; How many Stones have I really got; Get Beck

> Now, was *that* really necessary?

Kevin:

What IS necessary, really?

Why, did you name them Loverboy, Kansas, Toto, Phil Collins (I wanna kick
that one twice, once for what he did to Genesis and once for his solo
career...wait, and once more for his video of You Can't Hurry Love)?

My advice: don't watch Rosie.

I've always like Cure, Smiths, and several other 80's bands.

I can definitely link Punk to it, via AAA and even I've Had Enough, but I
don't know about New Wave. The Dirty Jobs, maybe?

I didn't say anything bad about Simon and Kenny. Being "tasteful" used to
be a compliment. It just doesn't work with The Who. Charlie Watts, for
instance, is a very tasteful drummer. Can't imagine him playing with The
Who.

No worries; she's the opposite of me. She'll be in her room, studying and
watching Princess Bride or Empire Records.

> :-) Seriously though, congrats! Big day.

Expensive day. But someone here could give me a little help with that. My
partner bailed on the Atlanta show (nice to give me "so much" notice, huh?)
and I have an extra ticket. It's an $80 ticket (my cost), to the left of
the stage and almost even with the front edge. Not great, but not
terrible...I saw Petty under similar circumstances and it was great.
Anyway, I don't have the tickets with me so I'll have to post the exact
seat tonight...but anyone interested please contact me privately. Thanks.

> Kevin in VT (developing a deep hatred for Loverboy!)

It took you 20 years?

> Maybe - Jimmy Page doesn't have the balls to step on the same stage as
Pete.

(another) Kevin:

There is this new thing they have now, it's called a "back brace." But
perhaps it's more serious...years of drinking and doing hard drugs do have
a way of deteriorating the body.

> yeah sittin thruogh jimmy page and black crowes is like sitting thru pete
townshend and pearl jam do who songs. the great guitarist and a bunch of
second rate musicians.

Scott:

Have you heard the album? Page is the weakest musician, no contest. The
Crowes are actually quite good, and I don't mean just here.

> Question: Could'nt the Crowes Play without Page ?

Derick:

The answer is: Yes, and better.

> Pearl Jam is booked for those dates in October.

(another) Kevin:

Yeah, but people cancel dates. Reschedule dates. Seeing PJ and The Who
would be close to Heaven for me. Yeah, I know it has nothing to do with
Atlanta...just imagining.

> How many stones is that?

Scott:

There's only three left in the band at this point: Jagger, Richards, and
Watts.

> URGHHH! They better let people in after 7:30 . I can't sit through 5
minutes
> of Jeff Beck.

(another) Kevin:

Jeff Beck played at the HOB here recently and it was primarily a Jazz show.
Can't imagine this before a Who concert...Beck will be booed off stage,
like so many other Who opening acts.
