It depends on what the meaning of the word "band" is

keets and Jim said some stuff about Pete's comment that "In the normal sense
The Who are not really a 'band' at all, whatever Roger feels."

He could be talking about all that both of you have said.  They aren't just
5 guys making some good noise.  They have a legacy, a 'brand name' that Pete
called it a few year ago.  So much baggage that they cannot possibly ignore
it.
