Person 1:
Oh, they were washed up after "My Generation" -- that song said it all
and it was all downhill after that.

Person 2:
"Sell Out" was their best album and everything after that was "tot".

Person 3:
"Tommy" was their best album and everything after that was just a
rehash.

Person 4:
They should have quit after "Live at Leeds" because that couldn't be
topped no matter what.

Person 5:
They should have quit after "Quadrophenia" since that was their best
album.

Person 6:
They should have quit in '76 after they got Rolling Stone live band of
the year award.

Person 7:
They should have quit after "Who Are You" when Keith died.

Person 8:
They should have quit after "Face Dances" because it was so bad.

Person 9:
They should have quit after "It's Hard" since that album was so
obviously a rehash of their earlier sound.

Person 10:
They should have quit after the '89 tour because they were so diluted.

Person 11:
They should have quit after the '96 quad tour because there was
nothing new left to play.

Person 12:
They should have quit after the HOB gigs because they are "old".

etc.

Someone somewhere at every point in The Who's career has been saying
they're washed up, finished, out of steam, etc. Fortunately for me,
they never paid those people any mind.
