Likely you're right to a point, as Pete has had that love/hate relationship 
with fans for some time.  I do believe in the tinnitus problem, but I'd say 
that once he felt motivated to play electric, he's experimented until he 
found a set up that worked for him.

The Storytellers series is popular because it gives viewers a glimpse of the 
artist's thoughts and feelings, rather than concentrating completely on the 
music.  It was entertaining to fans who are interested in Pete as a 
personality, and VH1 did an excellent job of capturing him (though obviously 
they didn't get the dark side).  Pete ran through an absolutely wonderful 
range of expressions, and the camera people caught them all.  They've got a 
real gem there.
