A Kiss fan plunged 90-feet to his death from a third-tier balcony during the pop-metal band's concert
in Oakland, Calif., on Thursday.

Shawn Timothy Stubblefield, 36, of Calistoga, Calif., fell to the first-level seating area in the Oakland
Arena at 10:48 p.m. He was
pronounced dead on arrival at Highland Hospital shortly afterward,
Alameda County Deputy Coroner Jimmy Smith said on Friday (March 24).

Stubblefield died of multiple blunt injuries, Smith said.

Arena general manager Sally Roach was out of town Friday and did not return calls. An Oakland police
spokesperson could not be reached for comment. A representative for the band did not return a call.

Smith said his office was running tests to determine if Stubblefield
had drugs or alcohol in his system.

The original lineup of Kiss is on its Farewell Tour, which is
scheduled to last into July. The band, known for its makeup and sci-fi
getups and hard-rock staples such as "Rock and Roll All Nite"
(RealAudio excerpt), will release a live album, Alive IV, on April
18.
