Fwd: Re: Stampede

Hello

I don't know if I'm alone on this, but I am getting a little tired of reading e-mails of members slamming each other for something they may have said or did.  This is not why I signed up for the this list.

I own this boot as well.  I bought it mostly for the Pete interview on it.  True, it isn't a really good quality sounding boot, but I personally don't like any Who boots recorded between 1978-1982 (hmm...I wonder why?).  I can see both sides of this issue:

1)It is in poor taste to try to capitalize on the death or pain of anyone, however I'm not sure that is the case here.

2)How else would you describe this particular boot anyway?  You can say it was recorded at Riverfront Stadium on Dec. 3, 1979, but I think from the date and title, we can all figure out which one this is.  How about to person(s) that pressed this boot and gave it that title to begin with?  Or the fact that the same person(s) decided to put a news report of the tragedy slowly speeding up on the boot (probably just to get it all on).

So, how about, from now on, instead of making everybody read these rude and self-important tirades, you just e-mail the others directly.  I know seeing these really diminish the value of having all of these Who fans all over the world sharing info on our favorite boys.  This is a really great thing we have here.  Please, stop pissing on it.

Now, all of you, go put on Won't Get Fooled Again full blast and remember why we subscribe!

Thanks for listening(reading)

A fellow Who fanatic

Michael

Chico:

Thanks for your input--even though I didn't ask for it. In response to your
rather hostile comments, I am not trying to capitalize on the deaths of
anyone. I am simply trying to sell my record. I don't think that I can undo
the tragedy by selling my record. But thanks very much for your
self-righteousness--dickhead!

P.S. Judging from your comments, it sounds as if you own the album. If it is
as bad as you say, then why do you own it? Could it be that the events at
the concert had something to do with it? Chico Todd, my friend, you are big
fucking hypocrite. Adios!

Your friend, JS-WHO
