Police, Page, Kids Just Alright

Hey gang:

Those involved in the Police dialouge should listen to the opening (or
closing) of "Synchronicity 2" (and the structure of "Synchronicity 1") and
compare it to the bridge section of "Heart to Hang Onto" and the closing
section of "Rough Boys". Thudding, throbbing, droning bass line with
complex chords played over it. The opening of "Pinball Wizard" is the same
way, come to think of it, but without a bass, just a lower string on Pete's
guitar.

Anybody hear the Page/Crowes show last night? Meant to tune in but
forgot. i like the Crowes well enough, hate "Outrider" and The Firm, but
love Zepp so i was curious if this show was any good or if it sounded as
bad as that rap version of "Kashmir".

Speaking of problems with "The Kids Are Alright" as re-released on
videotape, any clue why the "Quick One" was chopped? Was it to make room
for that "bonus video" at the end, or was it just to be obnoxious? Or to
sell more copies of the Stones' "Rock and Roll Circus" video (i know, MCA
didn't release that, so probably they were just being annoying).

well i'm off. i have to take my medicine, i'm gettin' on now, just look
at the age of this suit! (love that moment in "Kids", had to share).
