The long-rumored co-headlining event with the Who and Jimmy Page & the Black
Crowes is now a reality. Both acts are set to perform at Madison Square
Garden in New York City on October 3 and 4, with tickets going on sale
August 7.
In what may to be a first for a rock concert, it's been announced that no
one will be admitted to the venue after the start time of 7:30 p.m. ET,
since "these special concerts are conceived by both acts as a complete
musical experience from beginning to end." In addition, the bands are
talking about some sort of on-stage collaboration, though nothing is set in
stone at this point.

Neither show will have an opening act, and it's unclear whether the groups
will alternate who goes on first. Ticket prices haven't been announced yet.

Jimmy Page & the Black Crowes and the Who spent the early part of the summer
touring in tandem, sharing a stage and crew to cut down on expenses,
although they never actually played together on any of the dates. Both acts
are currently off the road, but they're getting ready to get out there
again. The next date for Page & the Crowes is August 12 at the Mesa Del Sol
Amphitheatre in Albuquerque, New Mexico, while the Who will play the
Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on August 14.
