Afterthoughts on Tweeter Show

My late thoughts on the 7/3 Tweeter show. Qualifications: This was my 3rd Who show - the other 2 were in 82. Only major gripe is the fucking 11:00 curfew that brought an end to "The My Generation Shuffle" jam.

Quick impressions here. The guys are having a great time. They are relaxed, affectionate and energetic. My 2 friends who came along were uninitated Who-bees who thanked me profusely and sincerely at the end for dragging them along. Not as loud as I would have hoped. I was sitting on John's side and he was real loud from there. He sounded great. Roger's voice was amazingly strong for the entire 2 hours and 40 minutes. Pete played well, but seemed to be having trouble keeping his guitar in tune and hearing himself at times. He turned his back on the audience quite a few times to face the 2 Fender amps: presumably so he could hear better.

The highlight for me from the set was definitely the slow "Naked Eye" that led into "See Me Feel Me". I also enjoyed the improvizational stuff in "Real Me", "Magic Bus" and "5:15".

Lots of warm banter between songs, and if I am not mistaken I heard Roger say "We'll be back". If you love the Who enough to read one of these mail lists, you MUST catch a show on this tour.

I was touched to see these old friends work together so well again and seemingly love each other on stage for our and their enjoyment. I hope I can get to a show later in the tour.
