Okay, let me try to clarify my remarks about the recent 5-man lineup of the band. I thought they got into the expanded versions of the 'oo because of PT's hearing problems. I read alot of stuff that seemed to support this theory. But maybe he was just tired of having to carry so much of the sound himself. I've heard him say something to this effect. Because he certainly could wail away when he felt like it, as he did some in '89 and Quad shows and at Day in the Garden.
I went to the Vegas show and it was like none of these other incarnations ever happened, thus beguiling my bewildered, but happy, mind. At the time I was thinking, okay they just sucked it up for this one night and said "fuck it - we're going to do it like it used to be done!"
