SG's--Why Did Pete Like Them???

I'm no expert on guitars--I just play a little, but my boyfriend John has been playing for
over 30 years (in the best club band [IMHO!] in our area for 20 years) and has been
teaching for 10 years--so maybe he knows something--but don't tell him I admitted to
that!!

We are both mega WHO fans since the 60's (I saw every Fillmore East concert in the
60's...brag brag!!) Anyway his band does mostly 60's stuff, including some WHO, and his
first choice is a Strat. He also loves Les Pauls. He says that he wouldn't mess w/an
SG...a weak guitar w/not so great action/feel, w/nowhere near the sustain of a Les Paul.
So our question is this...does anyone know why Pete seemed to like SG's so much? Did he
ever go into detail about what he liked about the guitar? John can't figure it out!

BTW, John is one of the best known & best loved seller's on EBAY--he has a store here in
Indiana & an incredible record/poster/collectibles collection...check out his very
impressive & massive feedback, & current listings by going here:

You might get a great buy if I don't steal it from him first!! (He's a fool...he let's
stuff go too cheap 'cause he sets his opening bids too low & doesn't use reserves! LOL)

He has a copy of Pete's book "Horse's Neck" up now (opening bid is $4.00).

Another question...it seems a lot of folks are having trouble finding "Live At Leeds
Complete" & Fillmore East boots...anyone have a good source that they would be willing to
share?

Thanks!

Later,

Janine
