Arrived home to find John Atkins' magnum opus "The Who On Record: A Critical
History, 1963-1998" in my mailbox. It will take me some time to digest and
review. I have already ran across one or two points which will probably
cause me to revise my chronologies. In the meantime I thought I'd give you a
list of chapter headings and the like:

Preface (4 pages)
Art, Rock and Roll, and The Who (23 pages)
Maximum Reaction (1963-1965) (33 pages)
Art Pop (1966-1967) (66 pages)
High Energy, Deep Mysticism (1968-1970) (38 pages)
To the Lifehouse (1971-1972) (37 pages)
Rockers and Mods (1973-1974) (38 pages)
Beating The Retreat (1975-1978) (28 pages)
Second Generation (1979-1998) (37 pages)
Notes (6 pages)
Appendix 1: Essential LP and CD Releases (1965-1998) (7 pages)
Appendix 2: Index of Who Songs and Recorded Performances (1963-1991) (41
pages)
Index (13 pages)

More later,
