Polydor; The real loser; Boots

>The label says Grifon GR 88014, and the track listing is:

Jonny:

It can't be a legit release, because The Who are on Polydor in Europe. It
appears to be a sloppy bootleg of released material. The copyright laws are
rather loose in some countries, Germany and Italy being the big two. That's
why there are so many bootlegs from them.

>DIVINITY SCHOOL LOST!

Mark H:

No, Bush lost even in Florida. The guy who couldn't be bother to leave the
state to fulfill his National Guard duties and who used legal trickery to
stop counting the votes at a place he liked will be President for four or
less years.

>wife's reaction was generally something like "ENOUGH!"

Jeff:

Say it ain't so, Joe!

> This reaction brings
>up the very valid question of how it is that a person could enjoy repeated
>listenings and viewings of this stuff given the substandard sound quality.

After a short time the mind "fills in the gaps" and it comes down to how
good (great, incredible) the performance was.

>For me the answer is simple nostalgia. Who concert experiences have been
so
>cathartic for me that reliving them via these recordings continues to be
>attractive. In other words, the boots are best enjoyed with great concert
>experinces in mind. What do you freaks take from boots?

I close my eyes and study them to see how they morphed the studio track with
multitracks and overdubs to three instruments and a tamborine (sometimes).
