Plus, I think people can stop taping setlists on their doors.  This
after Pete refused to play at the Whocon because he thought somebody
was stalking him.  Hmmm.

I don't know that he's backing away from the idea of an album and
another tour.  Just thinking, which is a vice, of course, but not as
bad as some others we could talk about.  What he's thinking is nothing
new; it's fairly obviously what's haunted him about The Who for years,
just come to visit again.  Being who he is, though, he can't escape the
past.  Whether or not he's playing with The Who, critics will still
expect him to top whatever he's done before.  Fans will always have a
hunger that he can never fill.  Performance will always remain
ephemera, and the recordings an inadequate record of what The Who does.

But the alternative is to hide away and die as an artist.  If he were
on a solo tour, he'd still be sitting in that hotel room.
