Album from Hell

Re: Schrade's "Album from Hell" notion:

"Dogs"??? On an album of duffers??? Eeek - NO! "Dogs" is wonderful - I was
listening to the PT demo the other night (on which the the chorus runs along
the lines of "There was nothing bigger than beer in my life" as opposed to
the way we hear it on the single) - and even in this very rough and ready
form it's a GREAT song - way ahead of its time in some ways, and yet right
on the money for its era too (68).

Blimey - spool forward to 94, and Blur made a whole CD based on this
nostaligic "mockney" malarky ("Parklife") - and it was their biggest hit (at
least in the UK). Besides, I just love Pete and John's daft banter at the
end (VERY "Steptoe and Son") - utterly brilliant. And it comes from the
period just before they went all big and spacey and stadium - even though
they stayed UTTERLY MAGNIFICENT>

Re: Magic Bus lyric - I think the single version is "THRUPPENCE", but I'd
swear I've heard them use both "tuppence" and "thruppence" in its various
stage incarnations.

And here's my list for the album from Hell ("Who's Do's" or "Boo Who")

1. I Don't Mind (Roger - just stop it - please. You're 19 for God's sake!
Wait a few years - then groan)

2. Much Too Much (the title says it all)
3. I Need You (thanks - but no thanks)
4. Doctor, Doctor (nurse - the screens)
5. Bucket T (it's a bucket alright)
6. I've Been Away (and all you could bring back was this lousy song)
7. Love Is Coming Down (mind the mess - mock operatics ahoy)
8. Did You Steal My Money? (no -just your lyrical ability, if this can of
pilchards is owt to go by - "female footfall/trainer football" -
yikesssss...)
9. Athena ("she's a bomb" - shame she didn't go off earlier then)
10. It's Your Turn (for the song royalties)
11. Cook's County ("Dukes of Hazzard"/"Blues Brothers" ahoy - at least they
had their funny moments)
12. It's Hard (to listen to)
13. One At A Time (just form a queue - oh, where have you all gone???)
14. Why Did I Fall For That? (aka another load of old tat from their most
God-awful album EVER)

As you can see, I'm no fan of "It's Hard" - I bought the album the day it
came out, and threw a duster at the record by the middle of the second side.
I've only moderately raised my opinion.

Simon in Liverpool.
