That's a good point, and it does ease my own feeling a little... but I still
don't like it that every time I hear Beethoven's Fifth, the lyric, "Great new
fresh scent, Great new fresh scent" come into my head. Or that I hear "Start Me
Up" and I think of Windows '95 instead of the Stones, simply because it was beat
into my brain over and over and over and over again. I don't believe in any
sort of dogmatic ideal of what's right or what's wrong for this kind of thing,
because I do feel that the song belongs to the songwriter. But I also feel like
the listener has a right to have great music such as this to not be destroyed
for them. And these songs (among others) no longer have the same meaning for me
as they used to. I just can't get the product out of my head when I try to
listen to the song for enjoyment.

But, there's no way to please everybody. It breaks my heart, but there are
other Stones songs, other Beach Boys songs, other Beethoven symphonies. Luckily
I don't watch much TV anymore, so my Who won't be ruined.
