Re: Advice on boots

Required boots:

1) At least "Tommy Live At The Leeds" if not the double-CD of "The Complete
Leeds." The first will give you the rest of the Leeds show not covered by "Live
at Leeds." The double CD will give you the entire show unedited. Either should
be the first Who boots you get.

2) "Maximum BBC" A usually high-quality boot of the Who's performances for the
BBC. Lots of covers unavailable elsewhere and alternate versions of Who
classics. If possible, find the boot CD with 28 tracks.

3) "Shakin' All Over" or one of the other boots with the Fillmore East concert
of April 1968. As close as you can get to a Leeds quality performance with a
mostly different song selection.

4) "Who Put A Better Boot in 1976" from The Who's 1976 show at Swansea Football
Stadium that was professionally recorded by Glyn Johns. A few selections came
out on the expanded "By Numbers" CD.

5) "Woodstock '69" is much the same as Leeds but an often blistering performance
and it's great to hear Pete's remarks after he boots Abbie Hoffman from the
stage (as well as the booting).

6) "The Tommy Demos/Alternate Tommy," "Lifehouse & Quadrophenia Demos" and
"Music Must Change" are the best collections of Pete's demo versions of Who
songs. The first two are required and I actually prefer MMC to the legitimate
release of "Who Are You."
