Fave Kenney Jones

It's been awhile since I've heard the Kenney Jones albums. I wore my
copies of
those cassettes out long, long ago, and haven't replaced them on CD, as
I still am
one or two shy of having heard all of their official releases.

Anyway, I like the military drums and slashing guitar of Cry If You
Want, but
lyrically I don't remember that song doing much for me. And if I
remember
correctly, I also like the light vocal break "let your tears flow let
your past
go." I guess that's a pretty darn good lyric.

I've always thought "The Quiet One" was one of Entwistle's top 5 songs.
I love the line "I ain't quiet, everybody else is too loud." I often
feel the
same. (although you wouldn't guess it from my long-windedness on this
list).

But for the best, my first reaction is Eminence Front. It's simple,
powerful,
and a great lyric.

But I've gotta go with Athena. I've always loved "she's a girl/she's a
bum,"
but it's images (and great rhymes) like "There was a beautiful white
horse
I saw in a dream-stage/It had a snake the size of a ?????? living in its

ribcage" that give it the nod for me.

And by the way, I've been greatly enjoying the "How I Came to Find The
Who" stories. I'm waiting with baited breath to find out what happens
after
Keith and John invited (whoever it was) for their 3-night-stand of
concerts!

Long Live Rock!
