Deep End

I've recently gotten a video copy of the full length Deep End concert, and 
there are a couple or three things I've found interesting about it.  I get 
the feeling that Townshend was experimenting here, feeling free of The Who 
and his own man, and there of some flashes of what might have been.

If Roger never had a chance to develop as a songwriter because of his 
association with The Who, then Pete never had a chance to develop as a  
frontman.  Most of the time in this video, he clowns around just in case he 
looks stupid, but there are a couple of instances where he shows the kind of 
presence Roger has.  Curiously, I've never seen it from him in anything 
else.

The other thing is, this is the most dancing I've seen him do.  I've always 
thought Pete had a dancer's body.  He's got enough mass in his butt and 
thighs to get that elevation off the ground, and decent coordination in the 
footwork.  So now I'm thinking all he needed was somebody to do the 
choreography for him.

One of those girls singing backup is Chyna, isn't it?  Anybody know what her 
real name is?
