Box sets



There's a brief mention of Pete in our local paper today. They're talking 
about box sets coming out for the holidays.  There was a separate run down 
of the offerings with description, but Lifehouse didn't appear there, as 
likely they didn't have enough info on it.

This year's boxcar of cd box sets caters to every species of fan, except 
perhaps the consumerus flatbrokem.  Three ambitious boxes, priced from $70 
to $349, attempt to shoehorn an entire century of music into sonic cubes.  
On top of predictable distillations of early blues, the season brings the 
usual spate of boomer icons, most notably The Doors, Janis Joplin, Roy 
Orbison and Pete Townshend finally unleasing his long-buried "Lifehouse" 
project.  Perpetual heavyweight Elvis Presley returns in two boxes.  And 
while departed heroes from Sammy Davis Jr. to the Grateful Dead are lovingly 
resurrected, Gen X also is boarding the nostalgia bandwagon in entries 
touting Alice in Chains and Phish...
