Actually, Pete's father-in-law is Composer Edwin Astley. Astley is quite
well-known for writing TV and movie theme songs to shows like "Secret Agent
Man" and "The Saint" and many more. He also colloborated with his son-in-law
on Pete's "Rough Mix" album. Astley arranged Pete's "Street in the City" and
other incidental music on that album. Besides being the father of Pete's
wife, Astley is also the father of cult-musician Virginia Astley (who is on
Pete's "...Chinese Eyes" album) and Who producer/archivist Jon Astley. 
FYI, Ted Hughes was the husband of pre-Prozac novelist Sylvia Plath ("The
Bell Jar".) Pete was a great fan of Hughes' writing and vice versa.
