Pete's writing

Isn't this what makes us all fans of the Who. Being a cellist, I
initially was attracted to the complexity of the musical composition. BUT,
looking past the music which can stand alone, lets look at what is being
written. Pete has always dealt with issues that no one would talk about.
Isn't that what attracted us to these rockers in the first place?! Name
another band that dealt with as many social issues as the Who. Name another
band that has been as in-tune with it's generation, and has spoken for it's
generation (or punks) as much as the Who.
	 Let me name some examples.....
Gang fighting, Social unrest, Child sexual molestation, unrest
between parents and children, masturbation, insecurity, education,
cigarettes, true love, making love, fear of rejection, difficulties of
growing up, social disease, God, the sexes, ...etc, etc..
I could go on and on. ISN'T THIS WHY YOU LOVE THE WHO!!??
Pete takes music writing in the very socialistic way that it should
be. It is a reflection of our society. In the old days, you had mythology.
Now you have music, and thank god The Who!!! In Pete and the Who you get
frank, in your face topics. Frank and in your face topics tend to be "ahead
of their time".
I don't know about the rest of you who heads, but I have always
looked to Pete and the Who for guidance and reassurance. I was glad to find
more of the same in the music and even liner notes of Psychoderelict.
Just remember, Pete will get us through.

	Stay in Tune,
	Kevin
