YL:

I have to like this theory, since it equates "fight" and the lyric as I
think it should have been: "work."

According to the BBC special, Pete began thinking about air pollution
and the only survivors would be either those who have AC in their
dwellings or vehicles. Thus the traveling and stationary people in the
story.

Derick:

Correct but backwards...according to reports, he had the breakdown
BECAUSE of the failed Lifehouse project.

This is certainly true, although a two-sided coin. The audience wanted a
Who concert not anything new...and the band was nervous about trying to
take such a giant step so they reverted to playing My Generation and so
on.

A LOT of people think it was, although most serious Who fans more
correctly (IMHO) identify QUAD.

I have to argue with you there. My contention has always been MG was
such a great album because it was the only studio album which even came
close to capturing the band's live sound. These days, however, I must
tip my hat to the extraordinary Leaving Here and BDYDI on the reissued
ODDS AND SODS as being even closer.
