TOMMY was first, and its success definitely influenced the release of
JCS. Webber/Rice had already failed with Joseph And The Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat (I believe was the name) and T's success gave them
reason to believe they could do it again...this time (as you say) with
Ian Gillian as JC.

I think Judas would be the better role for Rog (love to hear him scream
"JESUSSSSSS! They've started to believe..."), and for that matter it
wouldn't be bad to have Pete as Pontius Pilot and John as King
Herod...while we're at it.
