Moon is God

Hey, I'd just like to say that I'm going to be 18 this coming Saturday, and
I'm a Who fan. I was raised on the ripping riffs of Townsend, the rhythmic
beats of Moon, the booming bass of Entwistle, and the angry yet boyish voice
of Daltrey, and I loved every minute of it. My dad taught me the glory of The
Who, and I plan to teach my kids that same glory someday. What I don't
understand is what is wrong with my peers. No one, except those choice few
that I've converted, seems to respect The Who. Everyone is always talking
about the Beatles and Zeppelin, but The Who is often overlooked. For those of
you out there that have been Who fans for a many number of years, I'd like to
ask if you had to put up with this same ignorance in great music. I can't
stand hearing some of the crap that is played on the radio, like Marilyn
Manson (who is a fictional media "frankenstein", just created to shock
everyone and make money for the record company). The Who has not received the
respect they deserve from today's youth. Many of the people that I know often
contest that The Who can't compare to The Beatles or Zeppelin or Floyd. I
think that this argument is pure garbage. The Who have more emotion and more
down to earth, understandable, and meaningful tunes than The Beatles and Floyd
put together, and more of this than Zeppelin in a head-to-head situation.
Nothing compares to The Who, and nothing every will. In conclusion, I'd like
to ask if anyone has heard any rumors of The Who coming to Chicago. I missed
them the last time they came through, and would hate to miss it again. Thanks
for hearing me ramble. Moon is the god of drums.
