Indoctrination and Keith (God on drums) Moon

I think enough Who fiends have successfully argued that great rock music (see:
"The Who") IS art, Stravinsky, Emily Dickinson and Pauly Shore
notwithstanding. So I'll spare you my own rant on this subject. But as to
casting aspersions on Keith Moon's drumming in the name of Buddy Rich, I think
the record should be reviewed. Someone (Brian in Atlanta or others) may know
the source, but I definitely remember reading years ago where Buddy Rich
himself stated Moon was the one drummer in rock music whom he considered
really talented. So smoke on that!
On a happier note, Stephen Fairbairn wrote:

Hurray, I say!! Let the brainwashing begin!! These kids have the rest of
their lives to be inundated by crap music and mediocre bands. Start em off on
the right foot and perhaps they'll expect more from the bands of their
generation. Show them how high the bar should be set and perhaps they'll grow
to make music of equal caliber. I can always dream.
