Re: The Who Mailing List Digest V5 #35

In a message dated 98-02-08 22:06:24 EST, you write:

<< Hello Fellow WHO Heads,
      This is how it started.........
Daltrey was in The Detours as a rhythm guitarist. He hired John and later
Pete
(at John's request (or vise versa). Keith saw a show and said he could play
better than their drummer (Doug Sandom (sic)) and tore the kit apart. This
was
 around late '63.
Roger, John, Pete and Keith formed The WHO, changed to the High Numbers,
released a single (I'm The Face b/w Zoot Soot), Changed their name back to
The
WHO, recorded I Can't Explain (1964), and the rest, as they say, is history!
       Till next time, >>

Just a few clarifications:

They were already called The Who when Sandom was in the band.

Sandom had already been booted when ginger man Keith arrived on the scene.
