Re- The Who list #269

Season's Greetings to all! The Last time/Under my Thumb was probably
recorded in a somewhat hasty manner with little or no thought given over
to production and quality or production values etc..After all John was on
his honeymoon at the time and one of the main reason's for the record was
to show their support for the Stones. Legend has it that any proceeds from
the record's sale would go to fight the Stones legal battles/fees etc. It
would be interesting to know exactly how the record did, amount of copies
sold etc.. and would be even more fascinating to learn if indeed an actual
check or checks were ever handed over to the Stones at all . (Tee Hee! please
excuse me while I laugh!) As far as I can remember the record was a Flop.
So, what's wrong with FACE DANCES ? I agree it's probably not every Who
Fan's favourite but it was a good album. It contains the INCOMPARABLE "You
Better you Bet",the great JAE Rocker "The Quiet One" and The brilliant
"Another Tricky Day" (Try playing that real loud with the bass up, it's
awesome!!) It's probably The Who album that got the least airplay of the
whole catalog so it does'nt surprise me that people don't think much of it,
but I like it. I also have to agree somewhat with Alan McKendree's button,
(albeit I do listen to other artists) NOTHING BUT THE WHO !! Regards,
                         DERICK.
