Yes it is the same as Bo Diddley's "I'm A Man" (don't miss the Yardbirds
version 
too, which is wonderful).  Not only did Kit and Chris have nothing to do
with the 
arrangement, but I'm fairly certain The Who were playing it live prior to
their 
becoming The Who's management.
