"...SING MY GENERATION" CD

Question for those who know!

In a local used record store today, I saw two copies
of THE WHO SING MY GENERATION (gag, I hate
that title!) on CD for $8.99 each.  Guaranteed not to
skip.

Now the question here is:  Should I invest?  I've been
holding back, since I thought that MCA would surely
release the original MY GENERATION with bonus trax
and the like sooner or later...but now it appears 'tis
not to be.  So how about this?  I know I like the album,
even though it's a butchered version of the UK version.
What's the CD sound quality like?  Awful?  Probably.

Anyway, please let me know what you guys think
before I blow $8.99 plus tax forever!!
