The Who Mailing List Digest V5 #91 -Reply

Who do I love?
1. Swervedriver - Beautiful, noisy, psychedelic guitars, great tunes,
great gorgeous rock, the second (?) greatest band ever. They've
covered the Who twice.
2. Wedding Present- Great, driving pop/rock tunes, great archetypal
sound, super strum, great drums, clever-to-great lyrics, the 3rd greatet
band ever
3. Verlaines - Fascinating songs, great lyrics and arrangement, mind
boggling, intellectual indie pop/rock (rock jangle?).
4. Stereolab- Goregeous, bouncy head trips or gorgeous, droning head
trips, cold but warm.
5.Yo La Tengo- Ditto, but the trips are generally (a little) shorter, and
more organic.
6. Superchunk- You can't have too much rock, especially when the
tunes are interesting and the lyrics so good.
7. Built to Spill- If Neil Young was as good as people say, and young.
Now it starts getting hazy-
8. Sleater Kinney- Girls that Rock.
9. Sea and Cake- Jazz pop for rock lovers.
10. The Pastels- No band could give more love. Ramshackle jangle, gentle
arrangements, there are no voices most honest in rock (see Wedding
Present).
11. Ride, My Bloody Valentine, Moody Blues, Bowie, Mark Eitzel, Trans
Am (the only instrumental band I like), Moose .... If you wanna know more
about these bands, lemme know. -E
