I don't think you could find that many bands that the Who did not influence.
I can hear the influence of thier music in many bands; not only in style, but
sometimes in arrangement, lyrical attitude/content, etc.

A quick example I can remember right off the top of my head is a Nirvana
concert I saw on MTV about 2 years ago that concluded with Dave Grohl
smashing his drumkit (with the body of Kurt Cobain, nonetheless!) and Kurt
himself staying on the stage several minutes after the bass player had left
(after smashing his bass) and destoying his amp, his guitar, and many of the
stage props. Definitly a Who-influence if I've ever seen one!
