OK, I'm a little late on the take-up, I know, but I got the Its Hard
reissue recently and here are my thoughts on it:
o The bass seems more lively than the original; it seems that many of
John's little bass riffs in various songs were omitted from the
original pressing. I like the little riffs.
o in my mind, the two songs that really shine from the remixing/mastering
are "Eminence Front" (baby let's fuck?) and "Cry If You Want". I
remember listening to this album when it first came out and thinking
"shit! they cut off the guitar jam on the end of CIYW just when it
was getting good!" Now I see that they have included a much longer
segment of the jam :)
o I like the live versions, but kinda wish they had picked live versions
from some other show. Didn't these versions appear on the 2 disc Join
Together? Roger's voice sounded gravelly in CIYW. I guess nothing
short of having the band sing live in your living room is truly going
to satisfy the fans on this list :)
