Oddly enough, though, that is not really what Schizophrenic means.
There is a "disease" (or whatever) called multiple personality
disorder, but it is completely different from schizophrenia.
Schizophrenia is "a mental disorder characterized by indifference,
withdrawal, hallucinations, and delusions of persecution and
omnipotence, often with unimpaired intelligence."

I once had it explained to me that the root of the word comes from
the "split" between the person's interior state and the exterior
world. Whatever that means.<g>

But I agree that Pete had an idea of schizophrenia that meant
multiple personalities, and used that idea to coin the word
quadrophenia.
