WHAT IF?

mark:
thank you for giving your insight on my theries. i said IH and FD
should have not been made partly because i think the who as they are today
would have been better off if these weak albums had never been released.
What if the who had broken up? maybe events would have gone something like
this.......

SEPTEMBER 1978: the who release a statement similar to the one led
zeppelin would release two years later. "the who cannot continue without
keith moon". besides, the band wasn't functioning with keith either.

1979: TKAA movie is released celebrating the career of the greatest (now
defunct) rock and roll band of all time. INTEREST IN THE WHO IS AT AN ALL
TIME HIGH

pete releases empty glass which is not overshadowed by any who project. in
fact, the popularity of TKAA movie propels empty glass even higher in the
charts. fans feel that this is what is left of the legacy of the who.
Roger and John's careers also do better than ever before.

later in the year, the quadrophenia movie is released.
THE SURVIVING MEMBERS OF THE WHO REUNITE FOR SHOWS AT THE ROYAL ALBERT
HALL AND MADISON SQUARE GARDEN WHERE THEY PERFORM QUADROPHENIA IN IT'S
ENTIRETY. they are backed by a full backup band (although townshend
handles most of the heavy guitar work). the band included two drummers.
one is kenny jones and the other is neil pert of rush.

1980: Pete releases another incredible solo album. in addition to some of
the better cuts from all the best cowboys have chinese eyes the album
includes the "who-like" ybyb. With the success of this album pete goes on
the road solo for a successful tour.

1981-1984: successful solo careers for all. (pete releases eminance front
as a solo artist during this time)

1985: the who regroup for live aid. Larry mullen jr. of U2 sits in on
drums.

1989: to celebrate the twenty-fifth aniversary, the who refom similar to
the way it really happened. nobody bitches that they should have quit when
moon died, because they did.
