Of course, you could always take into consideration that one of
Roger Daltreys goals was too be able to sing real opera ( I am not
an opera buff or even a novice at that, but I remember either reading
that or hearing him say it during an interview, so I cannot describe
what would be considered "real" opera...)and I think it was a chance
for Roger to give his voice a way to express itself differently. I
don't know if it was written especially for Roger's voice, per say,
but I often think of how he wanted dearly to give us a chance to
hear what he could do, or what he wanted us to think he could do,
as a matter of all our opinions...I know it's not a rocking Who tune
but if you look at that particular cut at a different angle, you may
or may not see what I mean...just my opinion...for what it's worth..
PS - I've heard some of Pete's demos on Scoop and Another Scoop
that are soft like "OLE"....Is it Rogers voice, or the fact that
it's just to lame and not a rocker? Just curious...
PSS
I don't see this song as annoying or wimpy as much I find "A Man Is
A Man" in that same tone
