Of course, there is the movie reference too.  MST3K, the film, has a Pete
reference really early on.  A plane is flying overhead, all of a sudden,
it is overtaken by a glowing aura.....and an accompaning ringing......
One of the bots remarks, "Now we know what it's like to be Pete
Townshend."
