TOMMY is another good example - the entire undertaking was, of course, based
off of "AMAZING JOURNEY":, which, in turn, began NOT as even a song but
rather as a sort of remarkable "graph" or "chart" PETE had been working on
which laid out "TOMMY's" spiritual journey as it dipped above and below an
ascending mid-line which represented spiritual "awareness" (of the Guru) and
"darkness" (unawareness). There's a neat photo of the original chart in the
magazine-like book called "THE WHO'S TOMMY" which, if I recall correctly,
came out along with the film.
