Do you know Link Wray ? Listen to Rumble, Jack the Ripper ...
He was a big influence for PT. Just listen to "The Ox" on =

My Generation (European LP)
I've heard that PT discovered power chords from him. =

Is It true ?
Link was a real precursor in heavy guitar, but he's unknow.

But what the hell if someone is the first to discover, control,or record
feedback.
Most important if what they do with it. PT was probably the man who
created a guitar style using extensively feedbak, pickup toggling, =

jack scraching.
Guitar sound became huge, heavy and agressive.
In an article about PT in Guitar World (or Player, don't remember) PT
said that when Jimi was in England, he bought the same amps as the Who
because he was impressed by their sound.
Jimi Hendrix continued the work PT had begun, mixing it with his own
personnality,
creating another style. And becoming an universal influence.
The lesson is that influence of open minded people makes music evolve.
not competition.
