The Who Reply to V14 #19

I saw The Who play "Trick of the Light " at least once before the '89 tour.
It was in either the Madison Square Garden (N.Y.) shows in Sept. '79 or in
early '80 either in Philly or Washington DC. The interesting thing is John
played 8 string bass and Pete played 4 string bass. A very heavy sound.

About how Pete plays "Drowned" I can quote him from a book called "A Decade
of THE WHO".That I bought when it was published in 1977 by Fabulous Music
Limited (UK).These are Petes words printed in his own hand writing, in
front of some pretty elementry (one staff) music."The song is in the key of
C- I use a capo on my guitar at the 5th fret. Then I play the song in the
"G" shape ,it gives a nice ring to the chords -once you have the capo in
the right place its quite easy to discover how I played it on the record,
if you wish "

The chord progression on top of the music goes: Starting when the words kick in.

C7 (no 3) F C F (thats done in two measures)

some other chords later on G, F/G, Em/G, F/C

I hope this helps.
