Re: Roger on "Sliders"

Reports regarding Roger's exact height vary, although I for one am
pretty sure he's around 5'4". Ledbetter Logic behind this assertion: I
saw a picture from the DST thingie of Roger standing next to Eddie
Vedder. They looked exactly the same height. I've met Eddie Vedder, and
judging from his height in relation to mine, I'd put him at around 5'4".
Oh, and on TV and in movies, if they want to make a short actor look
taller, they sometimes have all the other actors stand in a little ditch
(this is usually for scenes where people are walking along next to each
other). I suspect they did this in at least aprt of the time on
"Sliders".

And now, for a TRUE story from Yellow Ledbetter...

On Friday night, mum came through the kitchen and announced, "Roger
Daltrey is going to be on 'Sliders' tonight!" I was pretty surprised
that mum even knew who that WAS, but I didn't mention it. I was further
impressed when she refered to him by name several times during the show.
"Maybe she's picked up something about the Who after all," I thought.
However, this morning, on the way to school...

MUM: I'm going to display my ignorance of Who History here, but...was
Roger Daltrey in the Who?
YELLOW LEDBETTER: Uh...YES! He was the singer. Unlike Jim Morrison. Who
was not the singer for the Who, and who was, in fact, not in the Who at
all. But Roger was. (this refers back to a conversation/argument mum and
I had about three years ago where she tried to tell me that Jim Morrison
was in the Who, and wouldn't believe me when I said otherwise)
MUM: Hey! The Who, the Doors, they were around the same time and
all...
YL: You know, Jim Morrison was an American.
MUM: He LIVED in Eurpoe for a while! And his dad was in the military,
and Roger Daltrey plays military guys on TV!
YL: It's all the same to you, isn't it?
MUM: And they BOTH have dark hair!
YL: Roger is a BLONDE. <pause> I was telling Pamela last night that you
probably didn't even know who Roger was, you probably thought he was
just an actor.
MUM: I knew he was in SOME band.
YL: The 'Stones, the Kinks...there was a Roger in Pink Floyd, wasn't
there?
MUM: Anyway, I remembered they used to say "Roger Daltrey and the Who".
Didn't they used to be called that?
YL: No, they didn't.
MUM: Yes, they did!
YL: No, I don't think so.
MUM: How would you know? You weren't around then!
YL: I've seen the posters. And remember, I'm the one who knew Jim
Morrison wasn't in the Who...
