You mean that funky little newsgroup where bands are filled for months on
end by people arguing Led Zepplin vs The Who and whether or not Pete is a
homosexual? Hmm... uh huh. Thanks but no thanks. Fortunately, it's still
a free country, at least for a little while, and there's nothing stopping
anybody from going to both places, or from avoiding one or the other that
is disliked. Plus, why should this mailing list be destroyed just because
you and a few others- maybe even you and many others- don't like it? No
one is forcing you at gunpoint to read this newsletter or even subscribe
to it, at least I certainly hope not. Some of us think it's fun and
informative, you know. Once you start censoring, how can you argue others
who wish to do the same? If Tipper Gore had her way, teenagers would not
be allowed to purchase Tommy, because it might influence them to try
drug-sex therapy, pedophilia, and bullying. So you have your fun and I'll
have mine. There's room for both and no need to speak of the inhumane
murder of this wonderful list.
