Re: The Who Mailing List Digest V4 #29
Dear Hooligans,
I had the fortune of not only seeing the Hyde Park(London) show in June, but
also the last Madison Square Garden show and the Philly show. The best of the
three was New York City. The atmosphere in London was awesome, but it was
the first show and their were some rough spots. It still was a great
show. Pete sang Cut My Hair on piano, Dave Gilmour sang the Dirty Jobs.
After the Who were finished (before Clapton came on for his show) I
actually bought a back stage pass off this guy leaving. I saw Jimmy
Page, Ringo Starr. I had a lengthy conversation with Paul Townshend
(Pete's youngest brother). I actually was the last person to shake
Pete's hand before he left in a Mercedes. It was a unbelievable. I was
studying business in Rome, Italy and actually flew (by myself) to
London.
Anyway, I am looking for DAT recordings of any of the Quad shows. If
anyone has one, please e-mail me at alevin@thunder.ocis.temple.edu.
Thanks,
Aaron
