Actually, Keith was the one member of the Who
that was friends with the Beatles.
I was recently watching VH1 and their special
on the Beach Boys. One of the Beach Boys related
a story about arriving in London for the first time
and being shown around town by Keith. One of the
highlights was being introduced to the Beatles by Keith,
who according to the Beach Boys, was a close friend of the Beatles.
Keith also played with the Beatles on their world wide
broadcast of "All you Need is Love", and worked with
John Lennon on his solo stuff.
And sure Pete ended up on Paul's Back to the Egg,
and Rockestra but that was years after.
