What are these people thinking, anyway? They wouldn't be caught
DEAD in those seats for shows 20 years ago. We gotta let 'em know
it is STILL not safe, nor will it EVER BE safe for them to be down
front for a WHO show.
The problem today is that those connected to the money get the good
seats, and go for a variety of reasons (to be seen, so
that they may brag about their seats, etc). They are not there
just because it's The Who. The same holds true in professional
sports. The real fans are being forced further and further away from
the action by the "influential" people who get the good seats and go
just for something to do. In the Philly area, we call them the
"corporate types".
I say let them all sit in the cheap seats if they want
to go and be quiet. Restrict the good seats to those fans who
will enjoy them the most, and use them properly.
My wife and I had "lawn" tickets for the Camden show (can't call 'em
"seats", 'cause we didn't sit), and had a blast - singing, dancing,
windmilling. Nobody out on the lawn asked us to sit down or be
quiet, because everyone out there was doing the same thing.
"We'd like to ask for a little quiet, because, as Keith Moon would
have said, 'Have a little respect, it's a F*&@ING OPERA!'"
